OCHS Band Program Earns Honor Band Distinction
For the third year in a row, and 11th time overall, the OCHS Band Program has earned the VBODA Honor Band distinction after receiving Superior ratings at both their marching and concert band assessments!
Congratulations to all of these hard working musicians and their Director, Allison Satterwhite.
2024 Concert Band Assessments
On Saturday, March 2nd, the OCHS Concert Band and Wind Ensemble traveled to Charlottesville High School for their VBODA concert assessments.
Both ensembles did an amazing job! Concert Band earned a rating of Excellent and Wind Ensemble earned a rating of Superior.

Jazz Nights
On February 13th and 15th, the OCHS chorus and jazz band hosted Jazz Nights for the community. Both groups performed numerous pieces during the event. Guests were treated to coffee and desserts during intermission.
Art Programs Giving Back to Community
During their Winter concerts, the OCHS Choir and bands collected non-perishable food items that that donated to the Orange Love Outreach Food Pantry.
OCHS Band Students Invited to Participate in District Band
After auditions in December, 30 students from OCHS were invited to perform at the District Band event in February, with 2 more selected as alternates. Over 200 students throughout the area auditioned.
Additionally, 13 were invited to audition for the All-Virginia Band/Orchestra.

2023 Band camp is in full swing at OCHS. The kids are working hard, even in the heat! Can’t wait to see what they have to show at the family and friends event!!
